Curran & Whittington was founded in 1987 by Joseph F. Curran and John D. Whittington to assist clients who have sustained personal injuries through motor vehicle accidents or other causes. 	Joseph F. Curran, Member Concentrating in both personal injury and commercial law, Joseph Curran is an attorney with more than 20 years of experience, including a proven track record handling injury-related cases as well as representing banks, mortgage lenders, home builders, and real estate companies. In 1987, he co-founded Curran & Whittington to serve the legal needs of the victims of personal injury and motor vehicle claims. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar, Virginia State Bar, the Prince William County Bar Association, and Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and formerly served on the Fifth District Disciplinary Committee. He is also actively involved in the Prince William community where he has lived for more than 40 years.
	John D. Whittington, Member With more than 20 years of experience, John Whittington concentrates in personal injury law, civil litigation and workers' compensation law. Drawing on experience representing insurance company clients, he co-founded Curran & Whittington in 1987. In addition to being a principal of the firm, he is a commissioner in chancery for the Prince William County Circuit Court. He is also a member of the Virginia State Bar, the West Virginia State Bar, the Prince William County Bar Association, the Virginia Medical Malpractice Review Panel, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and George Mason Inns of Court. He is also active in the Prince William County community.
	C. Michelle Buelow, Associate Michelle Buelow has been an associate with Curran & Whittington since obtaining her law degree from George Mason University School of Law in 2008. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Ms. Buelow’s practice is primarily in personal injury and workers’ compensation law. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar and is an active member of the Prince William County community where she has lived for over 20 years.
	Kate A. Gibson, Associate Kate Gibson has been an associate with Curran & Whittington since obtaining her law degree from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. She earned her undergraduate degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Ms. Gibson has an extensive background in real estate and her practice is primarily commercial real estate law, including bank foreclosures. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar and is active in the Fairfax County community where she has lived for over 20 years.
	Sarah Ayers, Paralegal Sarah Ayers joined Curran & Whittington in July 2003 as a legal assistant/paralegal to John D. Whittington. Her duties include drafting pleadings, interviewing witnesses, preparing discovery materials, medical record review, trial preparation and coordinating Mr. Whittington’s schedule. Sarah has worked as a legal assistant since 1989 in several states, including New York and Florida. Prior to joining Curran & Whittington, Sarah spent six years in the legal department of an insurance defense firm in Fairfax, Virginia. She resides in Prince William County with her husband and two children.
	Kristine Koethe, Paralegal Kristine Koethe joined Curran & Whittington in June 2008 as a legal assistant/paralegal to Joseph F. Curran. She assists Mr. Curran with all aspects of case management, including drafting pleadings and correspondence, trial preparation, organizing case files, reviewing medical records, and maintaining communication with clients, as well as coordinating Mr. Curran’s schedule. Prior to joining Curran & Whittington, Kristine spent ten years as a paralegal for a local construction litigation firm. Kristine resides in Prince William County with her husband and two dogs.
